BIG NEWS this week…
Emma Mullings has been nominated for two awards – one in Australia, and the other in the US.
Emma’s song Skinny Roads – is up for one of this country’s most prestigious music honors – The Australasian Performing Right Association Song Of The Year.
The award is determined by members of APRA – the peak body representing composers, songwriters and publishers.
Previous winners include Kevin Parker who wrote Let It Happen for Tame Impala; Sia for Chandelier, and James Keogh who wrote Riptide for Vance Joy.
Emma says the nomination is an “absolute honor”.
OVERSEAS, America’s largest Christian music site NewReleaseToday.com has identified Emma as a contender for “the Next Big Thing” through its fan-voted “We Love Christian Music Awards”.
Emma got the nod along with the contemplative worship group Doxa Theo, electronic poets Graceful Closure, worship leader Jeremy Vanderloop and the rock band The Incandescent.
Nathan Tasker – the Aussie singer who’s best known for the songs Like You Love Me and No Good Reason – this month is touring the USA with Irish hymn writers Keith and Kristen Getty. And early in the New Year, he’ll be touring with Michael W Smith.
Nathan says 2016 was a year of challenges and opportunities.
This week, Nathan released a new version of the Christmas favorite Silent Night.
